How do I choose a password?
The password is used to prevent unauthorised access of the mypension system. When choosing a password, please follow these guidelines:
Your password must be at least six characters long and may contain a combination of letters and numbers.
We recommend not using your personal information (such as name, birthday, National Insurance Number, etc.) as your password.

Please also remember the following: that your password is cAsE sensitive

Below are some examples of passwords:

  • Bad passwords: your name, your date of birth
  • Good passwords: S3rv1ce, Engl4nd99

I can't access the Benefit Projector page on the mypension site
At the moment mypension is only supported by Internet Explorer. If you are using a different web browser such as Mozilla, Safari, Netscape or Opera, we are hoping to have mypension developed in the near future so that it is cross browseable.

I have more than one benefit entitlement - how do I login to each entitlement?
If you have multiple benefit entitlements with the pension fund, you will receive a unique password for each. The following is a suggested step by step guide to logging on for the first time. You will only have to do this once,

  1. Choose one of your password notifications
  2. Click on the login option (on the left) and follow the on-screen instructions for logging-in remembering to enter the password exactly as shown on your notification
  3. Having successfully entered your password you will now be asked to change your password to something more memorable. Again follow the on-screen instructions and set up the requested lifestyle questions
  4. Having successfully changed passwords and entered lifestyle responses you will now have entered the core of mypension. For now, please log out by clicking on the Exit option and repeat Step 1 and 2 with your next notification
  5. This time when you are prompted to change your password, change it to exactly the same password as you used in Step 3. Having set up further lifestyle responses (which can be different to those in Step 3 if you wish) log out again by clicking on the Exit option*
  6. Enter your details and password as requested. You will now see a duplicates list allowing you to choose which benefit entitlement you would like to view. Simply choose from the list each time you visit mypension

    * Repeat Steps 4 and 5 if you have more than 2 password notifications.

The above is only a suggestion. You can create separate passwords for each of your benefit entitlements; if you prefer the added security that this would bring.

I have moved overseas. Why do I have restricted access to the system?
When you make an amendment to your 'Personal Details' the system validates the data you have entered. At present, only UK postcodes are permitted within the system. This validation may prevent you from making changes to your Personal Details. The next version of the system is currently under development and it will provide full functionality for non-UK residents.

I've forgot my password what should I do?
Do not panic - If you have forgotten your password please fill in this online form . We will send your password by return of post.
