Local Government Pension Scheme 2008

This page provides quick and easy access to various sources of information on the ‘new look’ Local Government Pension Scheme which was introduced on 1st April 2008.

The LGPS is a good quality and secure pension scheme, offering stable and attractive benefits for you and your family.

A Guide to the LGPS (Employee Guide) has been produced that offers a short description of the conditions of membership and also information on what benefits the Scheme provides. The guide can be viewed here

Alternatively, a guide to the LGPS can be viewed on Streaming Video. The guide has been produced by the Local Government Employers Organisation (LGE) and includes a questions and answers section for existing members who moved over to the new scheme on 1st April 2008.
