You may be surprised to hear that South Yorkshire Pensions Authority has almost one
million pounds in unclaimed cash. Could some of this belong to you?
-
If you worked for an employer that contributes to the South Yorkshire Pensions Fund and
-
You left employment or opted out of the Scheme before 1 April 2004 with less than
2 years membership (Less than 3 months membership if you joined the Scheme after 1
April 2004),

What is a Refund?
A refund is simply paying you back the money you have paid in because you haven't
been in the Scheme long enough to qualify for a pension.
What will I get back?
You will only get back your own pension contributions (not your employer's contributions);
less tax and less an amount we have to pay over to the Inland Revenue to put you back
into the State Second Pension Scheme. Interest for late payment will be added to the
net amount.
An incredible number of people forget they have an entitlement to a refund of contributions
and, because many members then often move house and forget to notify us of their new
details, we are unable to trace them at all, which also means they lose out on money
that is due. Don't let this be you.
