As part of our response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, face to face appointments in the office have been postponed indefinitely and replaced with face to face video appointments, through Microsoft Teams, which means you can speak to a member of staff from home without needing to travel.
Microsoft Teams is a secure platform from Microsoft that enables effective communication from any location and a variety of devices. Video calls with SYPA are confidential and cannot be accessed by a 3rd party. The facility is free to use; subject to any applicable internet/data charges.
What do I need to be able to do a Video Appointment?
You will need good Internet access, using a web browser via a computer or mobile device, which has a working camera and microphone.
How do I make a video appointment?
Please use the calendar and booking system below. Once your date and time has been confirmed you will receive a separate email containing a link to the Teams Meeting. You can join the meeting as a ‘guest’ or sign up for a free Teams account.
If you are retiring and have copies of documents that need to be provided such as birth or marriage certificates, it should not be necessary to attend an appointment because we prefer to receive photocopies or scanned copies of these documents. This minimises the risk of original documents being mislaid. If you prefer to email your documents, please contact us on 01226 772923 or Customer Services and we will arrange to send you a link, through our secure mailing system Egress Switch, enabling you to upload your documents safely.
Please be aware that staff cannot produce retirement quotes during your appointment. If it’s a retirement quote you require please contact Customer Services on 01226 772923. If after receiving your quote you would like to discuss the figures, then our Customer Services Team will be happy to help. Alternatively please book a video appointment below.
If you have requested an appointment, our staff may contact you ahead of the booking to check if it’s a video call you require or whether we can resolve your enquiry more effectively by phone/email or by sending you the information you require.
All appointments are set for a duration of one hour but most enquiries can be resolved much quicker. Please note that for the sake of others using this service staff cannot allow appointments to over-run their allotted time. In the unlikely event your appointment session runs out of time but you have more queries you will be offered a return call to complete your business.

• Appointments (and cancellations) can only be made 7 days or more in advance.
• You will receive an email notification upon booking and also a reminder 1 day prior to your Appointment. Separately you will receive joining instructions for the video call.
• You may cancel your appointment at any time up to 7 days prior to the actual appointment date. If your appointment is scheduled within the next 7 days and you wish to cancel, please get in touch on 01226 772923
