You might be affected if:
You were a member of the LGPS or another public service pension scheme before 1 April 2012
You were a member of the LGPS between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2022
You have not had a disqualifying gap
You do not need to do anything. If you qualify for underpin protection, your pension fund will work out if an addition is due to be paid to you when you take your pension. If you have already retired, your pension fund will work out if you are due an addition to your existing pension. Please note if you are due an addition, this is likely to be, in most cases, a relatively small amount. They will do this as soon as they can after 1 October 2023.
