Apprenticeship Schemes

An apprenticeship is an excellent gateway to achieve a qualification whilst being paid and gaining valuable hands-on experience. An SYPA apprenticeship provides on the job training, meaning you are earning and learning at the same time. Additionally, you will also receive time during the work week for you to complete your supplementary college work. At SYPA, our apprenticeship scheme has a 100% completion rate, with opportunities to apply to permanent roles following these placements. We have had apprentices working in a range of distinct roles in our organisation, each that allow you to learn a different and specialised skillset. Some previous examples of roles are:
  • Customer Service Apprentice
  • Finance Apprentice
  • Governance & Corporate Services Apprentice
  • ICT Apprentice
  • Pensions Services Apprentice

office SYPA’s former apprentice Codie who is now part of our Systems Team after completing his apprenticeship in Customer Services.

Level Achieved:

We offer Level 2 apprenticeships that have the opportunity to progress to Level 3.

Length of placement:

Depending on the role you have applied it, the apprenticeship scheme can last between 12 – 18 months.

Salary:

We are continuing to pay our apprentices the best rate possible to help them start their careers with us or to help people retrain, while still earning enough to live off each month, especially considering we are still in a cost-of-living crisis.

Our new Apprentice pay rate from 1 April 2023

All apprentices will be placed on Grade A, Scale Point 2 of our Pay Scale on appointment regardless of their age.

The salary currently for Grade A Scale Point 2 is £22,366 per annum, which equates to £11.62 per hour.
